This is a very durable seat. We've used it for our son since he was 4 mos. old and have had no problems. As a 4 month old it worked well as a rear facing seat. As a 30 pound toddler it still fits him perfectly. We have the denim cover and it has been easy to clean so far. We feel he is very safe riding in his Marathon.

Spendy maybe, but hat is worth more than your childs safety? We did not even consider another seat after doing research! I cannot imagine putting my children in any other seat than a BRITAX, now we chose the Marathona and we have had it now for almost 2 years and we are buying our second now that we have another little one! This seat is soft and cushy and very comfy my daughter has loved it since day one! It as held up so well, looks the same as it did 2 years ago! It is so easy to put in both of our vehicles it only takes a few moments with the latch system! One thing that I recently noticed was I picked up my nephews car seat and it weighed hardly anything, this Marathon is heavy and well built I was shocked at how lightweight this other car seat was and it really made me wonder how safe that other car seat could be, it seemed very cheap and that is not what I personally want to put my precious cargo in! I will be buying another Marathon! It is very reasurring to me that my children are in safe car seats! I can not say enough great things about this marathon seat! one more thing, A friend of mine has the Roundabout, and although she loves that she wishes she too had the Marathon instead, she likes it better!

I actually have THREE. I have a 3 year old daughter, and 11 month old twin sons. Marathons were the only answer, and the Electric Blue fabric was our choice! I love them. We had a highway patrol officer install them for us, and they all fit great, (two in the 2nd row, and one in the thrid row, NOT bucket seats though). They are also easy for me to transfer between cars, which is a godsend, who wants to purchase SIX carseats? They are comfortable for all of our children, our twins sleep easily in them, their heads dont flop or anything... and our 3 year old LOVES sitting in it, she calls it "her seat" and takes great pride in buckling herself in (of course we double check though!) This shows how easy it is to buckle the kids in, its easier than any carseat I have ever tried, but its not as easy to un-buckle, actually it took me a while at first... but now I am an ol' pro! They reqline well in rear-facing, and I didnt need to use a pool noodle to get it at the right reqline, unlike with some other seats. They are also spectacualar foward-facing, making it easy for my daughter to see the world. The seats are up high enough for them to see out the windows, but I can still see over the seats! They arent too huge to fit more than one in a Van/SUV, but you may want to check it out before purchasing. The seat cushion is very plush and comfortable. Its easily taken off to wash, but also easily spot-cleaned, which is what we like doing more. Adjusting the 5-point harness is easy, and when I say adjusting I mean making it wider or closer, good for different clothes (like down jackets, and the next day just a windbreaker), this is done with the turn of a knob. But adjusting the hieght, you need to take the cover off to make it higher, but how many times do you do that anyway? It can hold up the 60 lbs, that means no booster seats, which means you save money in the long-run! I love the Marathon, they are easy to use and great for the babies. I would never give it up, and we will have these for a long time!
