Britax Regent Youth Car Seat Sahara

Britax Regent Youth Car Seat Sahara

SAFETY FIRST!

The Britax Regent, is certainly a wonderful, expensive, large car seat. Having said that, it is the safest car seat out in the market aside from the Sunshine Kids car seat for children over 40 plus pounds. When searching for car seats, I was not aware of the importance of having a child in a 5 point harness for as long as possible until I read a story of a four yearl old boy who lost his life while seated in a booster seat. Studies show, that it is beneficial to have your children in a five point harness for as long as possible. The price of this seat is hefty but nothing compares to having the peace of mind and security that your child is in the best seat available. The seat itself is large, too large for that matter- but it sure does look and feel cozy and safe. We bought a 2008 highlander and could barely stretch out the seatbelt to accommodate this car seat. So be warned! I personally would buy another one for our Echo- if the car was a little larger- for now, our only choice is the Sunshine Kids and Britax for our SUV.

Great seat if you have the room

I love the Britax line and really liked this seat but the base was to wide for our car. We had to return it for a smaller seat. The harness was easy to use and my daughter liked the feel but the base was to wide for our 2004 Jetta. We went with the Recaro Youth sport and love it.

Very good quality seat and stable

I notice that without the recline bar the booster seat will not rest flat on the vehicles seat. My daughter is 40pounds and she outgrew her original Britax Marathon harness height limit. She love her new car seat. The base is huge so it is more stable for my daughter's weight. There are enough room for both her arm or when she is reading books in the car. It is a very good quality car seat and for many years I have trusted Britax products. It is heavy and you might need assistance during installation. The only cons is that it is expensive, it cost double the price of other brands.

Awesome, Awesome Seat!

First of all I want to start by saying that I ordered this seat yesterday with Happy Mothers and it already arrived today without any expedited shipping which I thought was great! The seat came and yes it is large and heavy! The DSL guy had a hard time getting it up the front steps to my house. The seat was so easy to set up. I had used a Decathalon for my daughter before this so I was familiar with how a Britax seat works. It was fairly easy to install despite it's size. It is pretty cumbersome. I was able to do it by myself in about 15 minutes. I have a Minivan with Captain's chairs and this seat is taller than the chair and hangs over the seat slightly to give you an idea of the size. All in all though, it was exactly what I expect from a Britax. I had purchased the Decathalon for my daughter 2 years ago and now that we have a second child, it was time to pass it on to him. I decided on this one because of the reviews and the fact that I don't think that I will need to purchase another car seat until my son is old enough and then I plan on purchasing him this seat as well. Can't say enough about Britax. My children are my life and their safety is worth every penny.

Best toddler seat in the market!

This is a HUGH seat, but very very comfortable and safe. It fit well in my small SUV (Honda CRV)... but it does occupy almost the whole right side of it. I do need a recline bar to make it work (even though the menu say that you won't need one if you have the thether...). But I do able to put it in my car in less than 15 minutes.. and it is not even moving at all!! :)

Safety 1st Easy Care Swing Tray Booster

Safety 1st Easy Care Swing Tray Booster

broke in 1 day

second day of use the tray became stuck, we pulled it off to clean it and then it broke. total waste. move to cooshee seat....perfect.

On the Fence with this One

I bought this booster seat about 7 months ago. It has served us pretty well, we use it almost constantly and it's still fully functional. What I like about it: 1. It's portable-I would rather my kiddo eat on this at restaurants than sit on those nasty sticky highchairs. Plus she's little for her age so she fits in this thing better than restaurant highchairs. 2. You can easily get the tray off and throw it in the dishwasher. We have been using it as a plate because baby throws actual plates. This way she gets to self feed and we don't get flying plates during dinner. 3. Extremely easy to clean-we have a fabric covered high chair and this thing. I can get this booster cleaned off in seconds whereas the highchair requires disassembly and a trip for the cover through the washer. 4. It was CHEAP! I really didn't want to spend 30 or 40 bucks on a booster seat and the price of this one was perfect. What I don't like: 1. It was not immediately obvious how to put the safety straps on the thing. The picture and crummy instructions were not helpful. 2. You gotta WATCH little fingers with the swinging tray. I accidentally smashed my baby's fingers when locking the tray one time. I think this could happen with anything where you have a tray that you attach to something, but another time when the tray was not locked closed, baby started swinging it open and shut and smashed her other finger in the hinge where the tray is set into the seat. 3. The back has popped off of it a couple of times. Didn't hurt anybody but it was annoying. So you can see why I am on the fence. We are using it daily and it's still fully functional, but we have had some incidences...I think it would be a good product for someone who is aware going in that they need to watch the fingers at all times! The fact that baby got hurt in it and the crummy assembly instructions is why I am taking away two stars.

great for older kids and EASY TO CLEAN!!!

My daughter is 2 and wants to sit at the table with my husband and me to eat now. This seat is great for that because the tray and lap straps can come off and be used as just a booster seat. I wanted a seat that I did not need to strap her into so she could climb in and out of the seat herself. This was the only one I found that had a bump in between the legs that wouldn't be uncomfortable for a child her age. I feel that the bump helps her to stay put. My only gripe about it is that the back support comes out of place at least once a day, but it easily snaps back into place.

I bought FOUR of these!

I have twins and wanted to get rid of my highchairs. After trying two other brands out we settled on this one. It is soooo easy to clean - no holes in the seat to dig out food. My twins are 14 months old now and are about 22-23 pounds and it still works just fine. We just bought two more to take to restaurants since they wiggle their way out of the restaurant highchairs. I've had no problem with the straps loosening or the tray table being too tight as some people have stated. We did have to go back to the store twice to get a new one because the straps were missing from the box on one and another had an extra strap slot (the factory worker must have gotten trigger happy). Anyway, for now we LOVE these as we own a total of FOUR!

Don't buy this product

I had a bad feeling when I first tried strapping this to one of my kitchen chairs and I couldn't get it real tight. Then I noticed after a few days of use that I was always havening to check the straps to the chair and around my 25lb child. They always loosened up. One of the restraint straps that go around my child kept coming out of the back of the chair. It wasn't holding him in anymore. Finally one morning a restraint strap came out again and he flipped the chair by leaning sideways. He ended up upside down on a tile floor with the kitchen chair and booster on top of him. Thank God he wasn't hurt. I called Safety 1st and they are picking up the product from my house for testing since it's a new product and sending me a different booster. Hopefully this one will be "safe".

Miracles & Milestones - Rhymes Go Round Mirror

Miracles & Milestones - Rhymes Go Round Mirror

Great for 9 months & up

We lost this toy in a tornado and here I am to buy a replacement! We got this as a gift and I didn't think much of it, but put it in the crib anyway. Well, once my baby figured out how to pull the handle herself at about age 9 or 10 months, she LOVED it. Keeps her in the crib for a few quiet minutes after naptime. Now at age 15 months, she pulls the lever to make me sing the songs to her. Love it!

One of my son's favorite toys!

As previous parents mentioned, this toy was not a big hit during tummy time; my son ignored it when he was really small. I then attached it to his crib figuring at least it looked cute. Then, once he got to be about 5 months old and strong enough to pull the cord, he loved it! He still plays with it all the time and he's a year old now. He loves it when my husband and I try to sing along with the songs.

We love it

My son is 13 month old and he still plays with it.

Doesn't work well!

I bought this to encourage more tummy time but my 4 month old doesn't care much for it. It doesn't stand up well and the handle to start the mouse moving is very hard to pull for a baby.

Not that great

I bought this for my little one when she was about 3 months old to help encourage her during tummy time. I wasn't at all impressed with it after I had gotten it out of the packaging. The thing always falls over and the pull string that makes the music start and the mouse go around are difficult to pull, particularly for little hands. Now I've attached it to the side of the crib and she seems to like it better. Definitely not worth the money.

Comfort for mom

I was always so worried my baby would get in a bad position and I wouldnt know. With the mirror I can check on her during the car trip. She has also discovered herself in the mirror so it keeps her very entertained.

Infantino Shop and Play Shopping Cart Covers - Picnic

I wrote more reviews on WhenKidsRock.com

This is a great gift for parents that are worried about their children getting germs from the shopping carts (like me). It's cute and adds a little extra padding for our little love ones. You can also use this product laying it flat on the ground for tummy time but I don't think it's wide enough for tummy play. It's not wide enough for a child to roll around. The downside about this product is that it only covers the front and back but not the sides of the shopping cart seat. The velcro straps that needs to be strapped around the back an front are too difficult to manage while holding your child. It does not fit every shopping cart as well. Overall the Shop & Play is a cute product that does ok when you finally manage to get the straps secured.

Evenflo Triumph Advance Premier Convertible Car Seat

Great carseat

This is a great carseat. It is soft and comfortable, the height and weight requirements are great: We especially like that the rear-facing limit is extended to 35 lbs, as rear-facing is the safest way for a baby to ride, even after 1 yr and 20 lbs. We have a different fabric than the one pictured, and the entire cover comes off and is washable. The knobs on the sides to tighten the seats are terrific, makes for a perfect adjustment easily every time. The only complaint is the cupholder- it is pretty flimsy. I like that is removable or you can fold it up, but I am surprised that is hasn't yet broken. Maybe it is stronger than it seems? Overall this is a wonderful carseat, a great investment in our child's safety, and should take us all the way to a booster seat. I highly recommend this seat.
